How this shingle bundle estimate works

When the roof area is already known, this focused tool turns it into the whole bundles a supplier sells. Keep bundles per square editable for the exact shingle profile.

Formula

Adjusted area ÷ 100 = roofing squares. Roofing squares × bundles per square, rounded up, gives whole bundles.

Worked example

Enter 2,000 sq ft, add a 10% allowance, and use 3 bundles per square: 22 adjusted squares become 66 bundles before any product-specific change.

Before you buy

Check the carton label rather than relying on a generic three-bundle assumption. Order compatible starter, ridge, and valley materials separately.

Assumptions

Defaults are starting points. Replace coverage, density, package yield, spacing, and allowance values with the product or plan you are actually using.

Limitations

This tool assumes the roof area is already measured. It does not calculate geometry, complex waste, flashing, or safe roof access.
