How this fence post estimate works
This straight-run planner answers how many posts fit while staying within a maximum interval. It intentionally shows actual spacing because the final interval is often tighter than the maximum.
Worked example
A 100 ft run at an 8 ft maximum gives 13 spaces and 14 posts. Actual spacing is about 7.69 ft.
Before you buy
Add separate corner, end, gate, brace, and terminal posts to the straight-run count where your design needs them. Check post dimensions before ordering concrete.
Assumptions
Defaults are starting points. Replace coverage, density, package yield, spacing, and allowance values with the product or plan you are actually using.
Limitations
This does not design structural spacing for a particular fence system or account for gates, corners, grade changes, wind, soil, or code.
